Giggs suffered a knock towards the end of United's 2-1 victory over Bolton on Saturday while Rooney is still struggling with a calf injury picked up while on international duty with England last week. [LNB]Sir Alex Ferguson originally said he believed Rooney would be ready for the match at the Luzhniki Stadium, but the 23 year-old was not on the team's flight out of Manchester. [LNB]The Scot's options stand to be limited as Patrice Evra, Park Ji-sung and Darren Fletcher were also left behind in a bid to have the strongest available line up as United travel to Liverpool this weekend. [LNB]One player who is relishing Wednesday's European clash, however, is Edwin van der Sar, who made his first Premier League appearance of the season at the weekend after a 10-week lay-off. [LNB]With speculation over his future at the club starting to gather pace once again, the Dutchman insists he is only focussed on getting returning to his best form. [LNB]"My main aim has been to get fit," he said. I had an operation on my fingers in the summer and it took a while before I could even catch a ball again. [LNB]"The moment you are able to get out and start training again is like a release. That is the thing you like to do most. It has been hard not having that, which is why I am not looking any further ahead than playing and enjoying myself."[LNB]When asked how he felt about returning to the Luzhniki Stadium - where Unietd beat Chelsea to win the European Cup in 2008, he added: "Of course, I'm looking forward to it. It was a great night and it's not so long ago, but it looks like [feels like] a lifetime already."[LNB]
