It was reported earlier this week that Sir Alex could have his arm twisted to sell the striker if an offer of around £40 million was made.
Using Twitter Rooney wrote: "Read the nonsense in the papers and heard what people have to say," he tweeted. "absolute rubbish."
Rooney was recently ruled out of action for a month after receiving a gash on his leg during Saturday's 3-2 win over Fulham.
