Wayne Rooney is determined to help Manchester United defend their Premier League crown and push for further success in continental competition.[LNB] The Red Devils will once again be competing on multiple fronts this season and will be giving their all to ensure they end the campaign with yet more silverware added to the Old Trafford trophy cabinet.[LNB]A club the size of United is expected to challenge for major honours, with their achievements during Sir Alex Ferguson's glittering reign meaning that success is now demanded on an annual basis.[LNB]Rooney sees no reason why the club cannot live up to those expectations in 2011/12, but admits that they may have to prioritise certain competitions.[LNB]He is hoping to get his hands on English football's top prize again, handing him a fifth league winners' medal, while conquering Europe will also figure prominently on United's wish list.[LNB]"For us, we look at the trophies and the competitions we are in and it's so difficult to compete in all of them. You need to be realistic and look to win one or two," Rooney told the Sky Sports News Special Report.[LNB]"For me personally, I would like to win the Premier League again because it's such a great feeling to win that. But then we want to do well in the Champions League as well, maybe get to the final and see what happens."[LNB]United have made an impressive start to the season and remain unbeaten in all competitions.[LNB]Trimming the average age of the side has energised the team and Rooney admits more emphasis has been placed on fast-paced, counter-attacking football.[LNB]"With the younger players coming in, we have realised that there is a lot of energy," he said. "We keep the ball moving quickly, with one-twos around the box, and when we lose the ball we defend from the front really quick and put teams under pressure. [LNB]"If we do that, we can maybe nick the ball back off them closer to their goal, and that is what we have been doing. It's worked well for us."
