Wayne Rooney admits Manchester United are thankful to still be in their UEFA Champions League tie with Porto after a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.[LNB] The holders produced a sluggish display in the first leg of the quarter-final clash and fell behind to Cristian Rodriguez's goal after just four minutes.[LNB]Rooney drew United level by seizing on a woeful back-pass from Bruno Alves on 15 minutes before flicking the ball into the path of substitute Carlos Tevez to put the hosts in front five minutes from time.[LNB]But Porto hit back a minute from time through Mariano Gonzalez, having been the better team for long periods and created the more clear-cut chances.[LNB]United striker Rooney acknowledged the onus is on the reigning champions to improve for the second leg in Portugal next week.[LNB]Created problems"We knew Porto were a good team," Rooney told Sky Sports News. "We had videos on them before the game.[LNB]"We knew what to expect and we should have dealt with it a bit better, I thought.[LNB]"Going back there we will have to make sure we play the way we can and hopefully we'll get the win."[LNB]He added: "They have got a good away record in Europe this season and we know what we needed to do, but we just didn't deal with it, simple as that.[LNB]"Thankfully we're still in the tie as it could have been worse tonight. Hopefully we will go there and prove ourselves to be a good team and get the victory."[LNB]United were shaky in defence for much of the night and Rooney acknowledged the home side contributed to their own problems.[LNB]"We created a lot of problems for ourselves as a team and you don't really want to do that," Rooney continued.[LNB]"If teams do some great things, fair enough, but we created a lot of problems for ourselves and hopefully we can cut that out."[LNB]
