Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is hoping that he will be fit enough to lay for England against Egypt on Wednesday. Rooney picked up a knee injury in the Carling Cup final against Aston Villa and that started fears that the striker would miss the international friendly. However, scans have revealed that he suffered no serious damage to his knee, with Rooney saying: "Yes it's OK. I went for a scan and it's just a bit of bruising. "So I'm having a bit of a rest day today. I should train on Tuesday and play on Wednesday.  "I always want to play for my country and I'll be involved. I'm fit to play."
