Ronaldo rejects Real talk

Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted he does not care what happens at Real Madrid and is thinking only about Manchester United. Real were heavily linked with the Portuguese winger throughout last summer but United held firm and refused to sell. The Premier League champions remain adamant that Ronaldo will not be going anywhere but his future has once again become a hot topic of speculation. Florentino Perez is expected to make signing Ronaldo one of his top priorities if he wins the upcoming presidential election at Madrid. However, Ronaldo has dismissed such transfer talk and stressed that he is focused on staying at United next season. "At the moment I'm only thinking about the (Champions League) final independently of what will happen to me or my team-mates next season," he told Atena 3. "I'm sure Perez would create an incredible team at Madrid but at the moment I'm at United and I don't care about what happens there. "I only care about what will happen next season at Manchester United." United face Madrid's fierce rivals Barcelona in next Wednesday's UEFA Champions League final and Ronaldo is wary of the threat they will pose. "It will be very difficult to do it again, because Barcelona have a good team, great players and a great coach," said the 24-year-old. "The two teams are very good, they play very well and they have dream squads." Ronaldo does not believe his personal duel with Barcelona playmaker Lionel Messi should be hyped up too much. He explained: "It's a battle of teams. Without my team I won't win and neither will Messi without his team-mates. "It's clear that we are the two best teams in Europe. Not only because we are in the final but also because of the football we have played this season and for the trophies we have won. "It will be the match every fan dreamed about."
