Ronaldo eyes World Cup glory

Cristiano Ronaldo admits that he dreams of lifting the World Cup for Portugal in South Africa next year.[LNB] The Manchester United ace has collected virtually all there is to win at club level after securing the FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, two Carling Cups, two Premier League titles and the Fifa World Club Cup in his time at Old Trafford.[LNB]But the current FIFA World Player of the Year reveals that he still has a burning desire to taste success with his country.[LNB]The 24-year-old was part of the Portugal team that lost 1-0 to Greece in the Euro 2004 final and the side that crashed out of the 2006 World Cup at the last four stage and he is determined to put that right.[LNB]"I know I have achieved a lot already but I like to live in the present and not to look into the past," he told Football365.co.za.[LNB]Dream"I always want to progress in this sport and win more titles and trophies. And above all I always dream of winning the World Cup with my country Portugal.[LNB]"Winning the Champions League with Manchester United was incredible so I can't even begin to think what winning the World Cup with your country would be like. It would be an amazing feeling."[LNB]At present, Carlos Queiroz's side are struggling to even qualify for the tournament in 2010 with Portugal third in their group, seven points behind Hungary and Denmark at the half-way stage.[LNB]However the United ace is focused on being there and is looking to make a big impact on the tournament.[LNB]"Everyone feels that a World Cup in South Africa is going to be special," he concluded.[LNB]
