Rio Won't Be Ready For Wales Clash

13 March 2011 12:41
According to Sir Alex Ferguson, England captain Rio Ferdinand is unlikely to be fit in time for the European Championship qualifier with Wales on March 26th. Ferdinand is currently out of action because of a calf injury and because he is not expected to make the international fixture, the captain’s job could be passed back to John Terry as Steven Gerrard is also out. Ferguson said: "Rio has been doing a bit of running. He will be ready for the game after the internationals. I wouldn't have thought he would have a chance before that." He added: "I don't think it would be wise for him to be called up by England. He hasn't played for us since January."
