Rio Ferdinand out injured for six weeks

[LNB]Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand will be out for six weeks with a hamstring injury suffered during Sunday's Barclays Premier League game at West Brom. [LNB] The former England captain limped off in the second half of the 2-1 victory at The Hawthorns and manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed after the game Ferdinand will be out until the start of October. [LNB] Out: Ferdinand is substituted after pulling his hamstring [LNB] It means the 32-year-old will miss the games against Arsenal and Chelsea and England's two Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales. [LNB]Fellow central defender Nemanja Vidicalso succumbed to injury today, struggling with a calf problem with theopening minutes before eventually coming off just after half-time.[LNB] It all adds up to serious defensiveconcerns for Ferguson who yesterday lost Rafael for 10 weeks after he dislocated a shoulder in training. [LNB] Sore sight: Ferdinand and Vidic (far right) watched the second-half from the bench[LNB]Ferguson told Sky Sports 1: 'We've had a rough time with injuries. 'Young Rafa has done his shoulder in training in Friday and will be out for 10 weeks, he's probably going to have an operation. [LNB]'Rio will be out for six weeks.
