Rio Ferdinand can't be guaranteed place when fit, insists Fabio Capello

Fabio Capello has warned crocked England captain Rio Ferdinand he could struggle to win back his international place. [LNB]The England boss revealed he has had frank discussions withManchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson about the defender who issidelined with a calf problem. [LNB]The 32-year-old centre-half has played in barely half of United'sgames this season - an improvement on the 21 out of 56 last term - andhas managed just four England games in 16 months. [LNB] Out of action: And Rio Ferdinind has no guarantee of keeping his England place[LNB]'It worries me that Rio has missed so many England matches through injury,' said Capello.[LNB] 'I spoke with Sir Alex about him and he was back in the United team and for five games played very well. Now, after the injury, we have to wait until another time for him to play more.' [LNB]Michael Dawson impressed in the 2-1 win against Denmark and Capello also spoke highly of Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka. [LNB]Ferdinand, who has been criticised in the past for having a diverse range of off-field activities, denies such a busy lifestyle affects his game, but Capello refused to say his captain would automatically return when he is fit again.[LNB] 'I don't know,' said the Italian, despite Ferguson's assertion that the latest injury is not a major setback.[LNB] 'I'm happy now. Sometimes in the past we didn't have players. I'm upset for Rio but I'm happy about the performance of the other players.
