The Reds suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea and a wonder goal from Demba Ba at Stamford Bridge on Monday.
It was Ferdinand's return to the side after being left out of the 1-0 away win at Sunderland on Saturday.
Ferdinand wrote on Twitter: "Gutted about the result yesterday. Real FA cup atmosphere, our fans were unreal. Just disappointed we couldn't send ya home happy."
