The referee who sent-off Manchester United winger Nani against Real Madrid on Tuesday night is still insisting that he was correct in doing so.

Cuneyt Cakir showed the Portuguese international a straight red after a tackle on Alvaro Arbeloa. At the time of the incident, United were 1-0 up.

But barely 15 minutes later and United were not only don to ten men, they were 2-1 down on the score sheet as well.

And its fair to say that there was a few unhappy faces in the United camp after the game with Alex Ferguson especially being furious.

"I feel fine and don't doubt my decisions," said the Turk to Spanish sports daily AS.

"The red card shown to Nani was correct. The world will recognise the truth with time."
