Ref didn't add enough time and wasn't fit, rants United boss Sir Alex Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson launched into yet another timekeeping tirade yesterday and branded referee Alan Wiley unfit to referee in the Premier League.[LNB]Two weeks after Fergie controversially hit the jackpot in the Manchester derby when Michael Owen scored in the sixth minute of stoppage time, he was claiming Wiley ended the match too quickly as United were held to a 2-2 draw by Sunderland.[LNB] Controversy: 'Unfit' ref Alan Wiley sends off Sunderland's Kieran Richardson[LNB]'I was disappointed with the referee. It took him 30 seconds to make a booking and he didn't add any time for the goals,' he said.[LNB]But it wasn't only Wiley's clock-watching skills that Sir Alex questioned - he also insisted the 49-year-old official is out of shape.[LNB]'He just wasn't fit enough for a game of that standard,' said the Scot. 'We have referees abroad as fit as butcher's dogs but it took him 30 seconds to book a player. I think he was doing it to take a rest. It was ridiculous.'[LNB]Ferguson had already had a heated row with fourth official Mike Dean over a rejected penalty appeal.[LNB]The United manager is renowned for his mind games, and his latest criticism may deflect criticism away from his team's performance.[LNB]But he still accepted that it was a disappointing display from his side, who went to the top of the table only a week ago and could be deposed today if Chelsea beat Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.[LNB]'Our passing was poor in the first half,' Ferguson said. 'In the end we needed to show some great qualities to get something out of the game on a day when we played badly.'
