Harry Redknapp insists Tottenham duo Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King are just as good as Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
The defenders are in impressive form as Spurs continue to climb up the Barclays Premier League table.
Vidic and Ferdinand have been inspirational this season as Manchester United home in on the Quintuple. But Redknapp believes his men should be ranked alongside the Red Devils centre-backs.
'Ledley has come back into the side and, with Jonathan, forms one of the best pairings in the country,' he said after the 2-1 win at Aston Villa on Sunday.
'You can talk about Ferdinand and Vidic but these two are also up there. They are fantastic central defenders. They have got bags of pace, bags of ability and play a key part for us.
'We have been in great form recently. We have taken 33 points from 21 games since I have been here. That is top seven form and I have been delighted with the players. But we have still got a bit of work to do even though we now have 35 points altogether.'
