Despite speculation that the Red Knights, led by Goldman Sachs financier Jim O'Neill, were on the verge of abandoning their attempts to launch a £1 billion takeover bid, it is understood that the group are instead planning to wait until the early months of next season before testing the Glazers's resolve. [LNB]The Glazers reiterated their stance that the club is not for sale in a statement last Friday and, having rejected a £1.5bn offer for Manchester United from the Middle East last year, the Red Knights' £1bn valuation of the club suggests that the two parties are unlikely to find common ground.
