Real Madrid misfit reported to be house hunting in Manchester

If ever there was a rumour with such conflicting daily messages from one source or another it is the rumoured move of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid to just about anywhere. The Colombian who wowed audiences at the 2014 World Cup has had a difficult season with injury and struggled to break back into Madrid's Champions League winning side after his recovery.

The smart money does suggest that he will be playing elsewhere but who has the money and will Real Madrid be willing to make a significant price cut to tempt more clubs to take an interest? Would Rodriguez himself force a move and potentially accept reduced terms for the sake of his career.

The 24-year-old still has plenty of years left in him but has previously suggested he wants to stay at the Bernabeu, but it may be taken out of his hands. The players agent is none other than Jorge Mendes who represents Mourinho, and reports in the Star suggest that he is working on an Old Trafford move behind the scenes. The Spanish site Don Balon also claims that the player is house hunting in Manchester.

The article states that the player is looking at the Cheshire golden triangle that includes the popular footballer residence of Alderley Edge. The article also states that Mourinho sees the appointment of James as 'key'. Mendes has attempted to get his client a package that is equivalent to Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos which has generated something of a cold war between the club and the player's representatives.
