There's been alot of talk surrounding Wayne Rooney's Manchester United future in the last month and rumors were circulating that big spending Paris St Germain had the English hitman in their sights.

Although PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has admitted his admiration for Wayne Rooney, hes said the French club have not made an approach for the striker.

After being benched last month for the high profile game against Real Madrid the rumor mill was in full swing with different sources claiming that Rooney's absence from the United side could be a catalyst for him to leave Old Trafford in the summer.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson quickly poured cold water on the prospect but it did not stop rumors of Rooney's departure, with PSG one of the few clubs who could match his ambitions and wages.

Al-Khelaifi told Sky Sports News: "He is a great player, he is one of the best strikers in the world."

He added: "I think everybody would like to have him but, if you want to talk about the fact, we didn't approach him." ..... This could all be one of those tactics to down play any transfer but you never know.

Football is a funny old game and well see what happens in the summer.
