Pilgrims raid Red Devils

Plymouth have signed David Gray and James Chester on three-month loan deals from Manchester United. The duo have been brought in to help bolster the Pilgrims' defensive options. Gray returns to Home Park for the second time, having enjoyed a similar stint with the Championship outfit last term. Chester also spent time away from Old Trafford during the 2008/09 campaign, taking in a spell at Peterborough. Gray is a 20-year-old Scotland U21 international who joined United from Hearts in 2005. Chester is also 20 and has been part of the academy set-up at Old Trafford since he was eight. Paul Sturrock handed Gray an immediate debut during Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Newcastle, while Chester will be hoping for an opportunity in Sunday's home date with Nottingham Forest. The Pilgrims will head into that contest, which can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 & HD 1, sitting rock-bottom of the Championship table. They have lost their last six fixtures in the league and have conceded 17 goals in just eight outings.
