Sir Alex Ferguson has steered his side to their 20th league title, but at 71 years old he still has no plans for retirement.

United had the game won in the first half last night with Robin van Persie netting another hat-trick, many thought that the 20th title may see the end of Sir Alex as the United manager.

But instead he has set his next target on beating Chelsea's 95 points record and then onto title number 21.

Fergie said to reporters: “Winning the title has knocked 10 years off me - these tablets are great."

The United boss also had no doubts about which was his favourite goal last night, it was van Persie's second of the night which had Fergie singing the striker's praises.

“Never mind goal of the season, it could be goal of the century. He did something similar for Arsenal; he’s a special talent for sure. He has been unbelievable all season.

“In terms of impact he has made as big an impact as Cantona - he was an impact player. I have been very lucky with strikers and I’ve probably had 10 great strikers.”
