Paul Scholes red-faced after car is stolen while it was defrosting in his drive

Scholes left the £30,000 car on his driveway for a few minutes to go into his house, but when he came back outside the vehicle had disappeared.

The theft of the Chevrolet Captiva estate was reported to police after it occurred yesterday morning.

Manchester United is sponsored by Chevrolet and players are offered a choice of the firm's vehicles.

A spokesman from Greater Manchester Police said: "Police are investigating after a car was stolen while the owner was defrosting the vehicle."

"The grey Chevrolet Estate was stolen from the drive of a house in the Greenfield area of Oldham between 7.45am and 8am on Monday 28 Jan 2013.

"Inquiries to locate the car are ongoing." Police urged drivers not to leave their cars running and unattended while defrosting.
