Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung has acknowledged the importance of Saturday's trip to Everton as his side bid to bounce back from their Old Trafford derby humiliation.

Park was a non-playing substitute as United were thumped 6-1 by Manchester City but played a full part in a much-changed side eased past Aldershot in the Carling Cup in midweek. Park is in the running to figure in what is likely to be a much-changed line-up at Goodison Park and the South Korean knows it is crucial United boost their Barclays Premier League fortunes.

Park told United's official website, www.manutd.com: "We have to concentrate and everybody has got to show up to show that the Manchester City game has not affected us. We have to get over that. We have to put it right on the pitch and we have to prove it. It's a very important game for us and we have to go there and we have to fight to get the points."

United head to Goodison still unbeaten away from home in the league this season, but they have drawn their last two on their travels and Everton are unbeaten at home to United since 2007.

Tom Cleverley and Nemanja Vidic are among those expected to press for a starting place after proving their fitness against the Shots, while Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen also put in good performances.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted after the Aldershot win: "It's difficult picking the team as we have a fantastic squad with so many good players.

"They've not had many first-team chances because the consistency of the side has meant I haven't had to make many changes."
