Two goal Carling Cup hero Michael Owen has conceded that his future may lie away from Old Trafford. The Manchester United striker who scored twice in the Carling Cup victory over Leeds midweek has made it clear that regular playing time is his priority at this stage in his career according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

Owen hit back at critics claiming he was happy to pick up his wages while sitting on the bench by confirming he will leave United at the end of the season if he feels he is not playing enough games. Owen has said that while he has enjoyed being a part of Sir Alex Ferguson's title winning squad for the past two years, he does aim to play more games this season despite the emergence of Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernández.
