O'Shea - Roo is unaffected
John O'Shea admits that Manchester United team-mate Wayne Rooney is unaffected by the abuse he receives whenever he faces former club Everton.[LNB] The two teams meet on Sunday in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley with the 23-year-old preparing himself for more stick.[LNB]The striker has been public enemy number one with the blue half of Merseyside ever since he made the switch to Old Trafford from Everton in August 2004.[LNB]The England international was substituted for his own good by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson when the two sides met earlier in the season with the Scot fearing Rooney would end up getting sent off after relentless taunts from the Goodison Park crowd.[LNB]"Wayne talks about that one quite a bit," O'Shea told Sky Sports News.[LNB]"Teams have histories with each other going back a long, long time and they are two huge clubs, Everton and Man United, so there's going to be a lot of history there."[LNB]The defender also revealed that Rooney still talks about his former club and added that the abuse from the terraces only spurs the player on.[LNB]"He does to be fair, obviously because of the plenty of stick he gets," he continued.[LNB]"He is well used to it but we enjoy reminding him too.[LNB]"That's literally the key, the more players that are getting booed for us then something's going right for us."[LNB]
