Olympic hero Bolt signs up for unique street sprint in Manchester

Olympic sprint hero Usain Bolt has agreed to take part in a unique race in Manchester on May 17.[LNB]Jamaica star Bolt, who won gold medals in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay in Beijing last summer, will take part in a street event in the build-up to the World Championships.[LNB]The Manchester meeting will be similar to street races held in Newcastle and Gateshead last year.[LNB] On top of the world: Usain Bolt lit up the Olympics[LNB]'I am very excited to compete for my first time in Manchester, my first time in a 150m race and my first time in a street race,' said world-record holder Bolt.    'I love competing in the UK, it is like my second home as I usually stay in London during the European racing season.'When I heard about the idea I thought it would be great fun and something new and exciting. Hopefully this event will be the start of many more similar events all over the world and inspire kids to take up athletics.'Bolt, a huge Manchester United[LNB]fan, hopes to watch his team in action during his time in the north-west.'I am also looking forward to going to Old Trafford to support my team,' he added.
