Gary Neville has claimed that the Premier League's most important fixtures should only be officiated by an elite group of referees after what he sees as poor decision-making in high-profile matches this season. [LNB]In a move that is sure to anger senior refereeing officials, the Manchester United club captain believes that less-experienced refs should be made to earn the right to take charge of big games.[LNB] Red mist: Neville receives his marching orders from referee Phil Dowd[LNB]He said: 'Referees are having a tough time at the moment, but I must say that their decision-making doesn't seem to be great in the big moments. No one can deny it is very difficult to be a referee, but they are supposed to be professionals.[LNB]'These big games shouldn't be about giving refs experience. They should have to earn it. The best players play for the big clubs and the best commentators commentate on the big games. That's how it should be with refs.'[LNB]Neville's comments come just days after his manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, was fined £20,000 and given a four-match touchline ban, with two games suspended until 2011, after his attack on Alan Wiley - who Ferguson believed was not fit enough to take charge of top-flight matches. [LNB] Tongue lashing: Neville shepherds an irate Sir Alex away from Mike Dean[LNB]But the defender believes that UEFA have shown the way forward byordering the biggest European clashes to be stewarded by those with themost experience.[LNB]He said: 'The big matches should be refereed by the best referees. Italian referee Pierluigi Collina always used to get the big Champions League matches because he rarely made mistakes.[LNB]'They should make it like that in England and use a few elite officials in the big games instead of trying to give all referees experience.'[LNB] A full Alex Ferguson retraction would end Alan Wiley row says referees unionFergie banned: But refs are livid as Man United boss is hit by 'wrist-slap'Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool set for fight to sign Palermo defender Kjaer MANCHESTER UNITED FC
