Neville backs Fellaini to shine

Phil Neville believes Marouane Fellaini needs to start experiencing that winning feeling at Manchester United.

Fellaini has struggled to justify his £27.5million price-tag, with a series of underwhelming performances since his deadline-day switch from Everton.

A wrist injury that will eventually require surgery has not helped the Belgian during his settling-in period and, for a player bought partly due to his ability to chip in with goals, he has frustratingly still not found the net.

However, with Phil Jones suspended for the meeting with his former club at Old Trafford on Wednesday and Michael Carrck ruled out by an Achilles complaint, now would be a good time for Fellaini to rediscover his form.

Not that Neville, who also made the summer switch back to Old Trafford from Goodison Park, is too concerned.

"What is important for Marouane now is to play well in a match we win and he scores a goal," Neville told the Manchester Evening News.

"He needs to experience that feeling when you are part of a team that wins.

"It is fine having that feeling when you are part of a squad but it is great to have it when you are part of a team that wins.

"He (also) needs to start scoring from midfield. There is nobody better at that than Felli.

"The United fans have not seen the best of him. When he came he wasn't fully match fit but we are getting him fitter to play for United and be that box-to-box player.

"But we have every faith in him and we are really relaxed about it."
