Nevill Rides His Luck

Gary Neville had a game to remember at the Britannia Stadium while making his 600th appearance for United. He had two goes at flooring Stoke’s Matthew Etherington, the first time he picked up a yellow card and he should have picked up another for his second effort. But referee Andre Marriner didn’t give him a card after the second tackle for some reason and Neville was lucky to stay on the pitch. Neville admitted: "I was lucky not to be sent off. "I didn't think the first one was a booking - I got the ball - and then with the second one the referee's gone a little easy on me, to be honest."
