Manchester United winger Nani insists he is the man to fill the void created by Cristiano Ronaldo's imminent departure. The Red Devils have accepted an £80million approach from Real Madrid for Ronaldo and the Portuguese superstar is now set to complete a record-breaking move Spain. Having grabbed over 60 goals in the last two seasons, the reigning Fifa World Player of the Year will be greatly missed around Old Trafford. However, Nani, who like Ronaldo learnt his trade in the Sporting Lisbon academy structure, claims he is capable of becoming United's new playmaker in chief. "Ronaldo was a very important player for us but now my opportunity has come," Nani said to Portuguese sports newspaper OJOGO. "The time has come (for Manchester United) to put their trust in me." The size of the fee involved in Ronaldo's proposed move to the Spanish capital has raised a few eyebrows, but Nani feels his international team-mate is worth every penny. "It's a fantastic fee," the 22-year-old added. "It puts a new value on Ronaldo. "We are talking about an excellent player, so I think it (the fee) is fair." Nani has wished Ronaldo all the best as he prepares to take on a new challenge in the Primera Liga, but insists United have the quality to cope in his absence. "He deserves everything that has happened to him considering what he has accomplished in recent years," added Nani. "Real Madrid is a great club and I wish him luck. "We will have to rely on other stars now."
