Nani is going nowhere

SIR Alex Ferguson insists that Portuguese winger Nani will not be leaving Old Trafford in the January transfer window. Nani missed the slating dished out last week after Besiktas's victory but he hasn't played since United's 3-3 draw with CSKA Moscow at Old Trafford five games ago. Since then the 23-year-old has expressed his upset at being left out of the United picture whilst on World Cup play off duty. But Fergie says  he won't be sold in January and tonight could be another opportunity for the player to show his true capabilities and regain his form. "Some big clubs have been mentioned for Nani, like Milan and Benfica, but there has been no contact made with us - and we wouldn't entertain selling him anyway," said the United boss. "If someone came in for Nani in January we would tell the player that he is going absolutely nowhere. "He's a young boy and he wants to play - and he might get a chance against Spurs. "He has suffered because Luis Antonio Valencia's form recently has been excellent and because Gabriel Obertan has emerged as an interesting player. "It is no criticism of Nani, but the way things have developed in the last few weeks have gone against him. "I have spoken to him and told him that he must take his chance when it comes along."
