The Manchester United striker scored a hat-trick against Wolfsburg in the Champions League on Tuesday to take his tally to seven this season and Carrick believes there is more to come. [LNB]"It was a great achievement," said Carrick. [LNB]"Scoring a hat-trick away from home in the Champions League doesn't happen so often but it is just what he is all about. [LNB]"We always knew he could do it. He has been doing it all his career. [LNB]"Hopefully now he can get on a roll and he will continue to score many important goals for us over the next few weeks." [LNB]Carrick has just as much reason to be pleased with himself at the moment as, along with Darren Fletcher, he is one of the men asked to rescue United from their defensive nightmare. [LNB]First as a makeshift central defender at West Ham, then as a sweeper, Carrick has slotted into the new role with authority. [LNB]"I have never headed the ball as much," he said. [LNB]"It is not the physical side that is hard about playing centre-half, it is the mental. [LNB]"You need to maintain concentration and focus at all times. I just put myself in the right positions and hoped for the best." [LNB]-- Help Capello do his job - pick your England team to decide if Michael Owen should be on the plane to South Africa. [LNB]
