Juan Mata is set to finalize his £37 million move from Chelsea after completing the medical, which will take place at Manchester United’s £10m medical facility located inside Carrington.
The Spaniard is due to arrive at Carrington training ground by helicopter this morning to have his medical with doctors already on-site, according to reports.
A £37 million fee was agreed upon between Chelsea and United on Wednesday after there was a breakthrough in talks, which led to the London club giving Mata permission to miss first-team training.
Mourinho would have preferred to sell the 25-year old to non-English teams like PSG or Atletico Madrid but it was Mata who pushed for the United move, specifying that they’re his first choice.
Mata is expected to made his United debut against Cardiff City next Tuesday in the Premier League.
Chelsea have now hijacked Liverpool’s deal for Basel’s Mohamed Salah as a replacement for the Spanish playmaker.
