Manchester United's sixth summer signing could be completed in a 'matter of hours'

Manchester United are continuing to spend this summer and the arrival of player number six could be just hours away, according to reports in Spanish newspaper Sport today.

Barcelona's Pedro has been heavily linked with a move to United and now according to Sport, a newspaper close to the Barca hierarchy, the player's future could resolved in a matter of hours, with United vice-chairman Ed Woodward set to meet with the Spanish giants in Catalonia today.

Sport say that Woodward will present Barcelona with an offer of around €30million, plus as yet undecided add-ons. United were keen to land the Spanish international for the lower price of €25million but Barcelona are standing firm with their valuation of a player that has won a multitude of honours in Spain and Europe.

But last seasons Champions League winners will be quick to remind United that Pedro's initial release clause – which was inserted into the player's contract only this year – stood at €150million.

Pedro has already told friends and family that his move to Old Trafford is now a formality and will be the sixth player Louis van Gaal has signed this summer as the Dutchman attempts to return United to past glories.
