The Serbia international was outstanding as Manchester United won the Premier League and reached the Champions League Final in May, forming a formidable partnership with Rio Ferdinand at the heart of the defence. [LNB]Yet both players have struggled with injury this season, with Ferdinand coming in for particularly heavy criticism after making a series of costly errors for both club and country which has seen some question whether his days at the top level are numbered. [LNB]"I had problems from the beginning of the season," conceded Vidic, who has played in seven of United's 12 league games, in which they have conceded 17 times. [LNB]"I missed part of pre-season, had the injury to my ankle, my back and then my calf. When you have injuries it is very difficult to find form and to play at the very top of your game. But I hope I am 100 per cent now. [LNB]"Will Rio get back to his best? Yes, why not? I don't think he is under pressure, he has shown how good he is, but he needs to be fit. When he is fit, without any injuries, he is a top-class player."[LNB]Sir Alex Ferguson's side have already suffered defeats to Burnley, Liverpool and Chelsea, having lost just four times last season. They ended that campaign with a mammoth 90 points, a total Vidic believes may never be beaten and says that with Manchester City joining the top table this season could be the tightest in history. [LNB]Vidic added: "This year in the league someone can get maximum 85 points, maybe less [will be enough to win the league]. Ourselves, Liverpool, we have lost so many points compared to previous years. [LNB]"It's different this year. Manchester City are definitely going to take a lot of points from the top four teams. They have good players and we will see how they go together as a team, though you have to respect them." [LNB]
