Manchester United vs Liverpool: Premier League Match Preview

12 March 2014 09:54

It’s the last quarter of the season and every game matters the most to each and every team in the league. Manchester United –Liverpool is the most anticipated game for both end supporters. It’s no surprise that this weekend game holds a special weight. There’s no doubt in saying that United face a great danger in facing a resurrected and rejuvenated Liverpool. Liverpool look to be in good form-unbeaten in the Premier League this calendar year, on the other hand, United still see themselves tabled 6th in the league. David Moyes’s team hasn’t performed well in any competition so far. Questions are being raised over his future. It’s time he proved his managerial credentials. He cannot get any better opportunity to send a message that he’s ‘the chosen one’ than this game. Performing well in such a crucial game will not only silent the critics but also help United keep pressure up the teams fighting for the Europe spot. Then again, Liverpool are surprisingly performing better this season than expected with such a small squad. They are 7 points off the leaders and placed 2nd in the league. Kopites are daring to dream because of the deadly attack force they comprise at the front. They are well into the game as favorites but at Old Trafford, United always have an upper hand. Liverpool fans may well be dreaming of another rampage like they did before 5 years during the same course of the season but the poor away form and defensive errors are the ones that concern Brendan Rodgers. BR and his men would be foolish to under estimate Red Devils’ capability but there are no second thoughts that this game is going to be decisive in defining both teams season.

Possible Team Line-ups:

Liverpool – Rodgers would field in a strong attacking Liverpool side. Allen would drop off and Sterling can get a start considering his performance in the game vs Denmark. Injury sidelined Sakho has returned to first team training and may well start the game. Liverpool most probably would field a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Manchester United – Having defeated WestBrom at The Hawthorns, Moyes would field in his best team as well.
