Rooney was left out of the 3-3 draw at Goodison with Ferguson citing the "terrible abuse" he receives at the ground.

The United forward has faced a turbulent week due to allegations surrounding his personal life.

Rooney took part in a warm-up session of ball work before undertaking shuttle runs.

Throughout, the forward appeared unperturbed by the off-field turmoil, laughing with his team-mates during the practice session.

Aside from Rooney, Rio Ferdinand took part in the session, as did the Portuguese youngster Bebe.
