Manchester United target will Costa fortune! Gremio say no to trial offer for £25m teen Douglas
Brazilian club Gremio say Manchester United made an approach to take midfielder Douglas Costa on a three-week trial.
United have tracked the Brazil Under 20 international since last summer and took scouting reports on him from their former defender Jaap Stam.
But Gremio are reluctant to let him go for anything less than his release clause - which is close to £25million - and say the offer of a trial is unacceptable.
The Porto Alegre-based club's president Duda Kroeff said: 'We said to them it couldn't happen. Douglas is no longer at the stage to go through with such a situation.'
