Manchester United target Marouane Fellaini on the move?

Speculation about Everton’s Marouane Fellaini continues to grow due to his absence during Everton’s preseason friendly with Real Betis. His omission from the squad left many Evertonians concerned and pressing for answers on Twitter. The resulting answer did come with Everton's official Twitter account stating the player was in attendance however was unable to play due to an infected cut in his lower leg.

This was met with indignation from Everton fans believing it was merely a smoke and mirrors attempt to cover up a move that many believe would see Fellaini sign with his old boss David Moyes. Whether this is true or not the real worry for Everton fans is the nature in which this deal is done. The hope is that Moyes gets any potential deal done early allowing Martinez the time to reinforce the squad with the money gained from the Fellaini transfer.

The other fear is that Everton allows Fellaini to go for less than what his buy-out clause was earlier this summer, before it expired. If this does happen Kenwright should expect a new tirade of abuse sent his way, with many feeling he doesn’t do enough to get the best out of transfers out of the club.

The Match between Everton and Betis saw Everton run out comfortable 2-1 winners with Betis scoring with one of the last kicks of the game. One of the biggest pros of this game, for the blues, was Jelavic getting on the score line once more after some rather questionable defending from Betis allowing him to slot home a simple, albeit calmly took, finish into the back of the net.

Whether Fellaini is set to leave Goodison or not will continue to be a talking point for the rest of this transfer window, however many supporters believe that if the sale is done early enough and the money is reinvested back into the squad the loss of Fellaini may not be as devastating as some are making out.
