However, Magath's public proclamations have angered Neuer, who said: 'I can't say the same thing. There are always two sides to a story like this.'
It has been reported that Schalke are prepared to more than double his £32,000 a week wages if he extends till 2013, but Neuer is not prepared to even sit down for talks with the club.

'There will be no Christmas present,' the 24-year-old warned fans after helping Schalke into the German Cup quarter-final with a 1-0 win against Ausburg on Tuesday night. 'I will not sit down under pressure.'
With Bayern Munich also interested, Schalke will demand a high fee if they feel they can't convince Neuer to stay - with recent talk of a prohibitively high £25million price tag.
United have marked him out as a long-term replacement for Edwin van der Sar, who is expected to retire at the end of the season.
The Barclays Premier League giants have already snapped up Denmark No 1 Anders Lindegaard from Aalesunds, but Sir Alex Ferguson has indicated he is still in the market for another goalkeeper.
Neuer has enjoyed a taste of Champions League football with Schalke this season, but his club look unlikely to qualify for next season's competition as a disappointing start to the season leaves them 10th in the Bundesliga at the halfway stage.
