Manchester United target linked with AC Milan move

Manchester United long term target Wesley Sneidjer could be on his way to current rivals AC Milan as Inter Milan have deemed the Dutch playmaker surplus to requirements, according to La Gazello dello Sport.

Adriano Galliani had reiterated in the past that it would be impossible for the two sides to do business – with past transfers such as Clarence Seedorf and Andrea Pirlo. However, that pact appears to be broken with the recent swap between Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini.

Under Stramaccioni, Inter deploy a system that does not suit the Dutchman. Sneidjer thrives under the attacking midfield role, picking up pockets of space and delivering defence splitting passes to his team mates. In a 4-2-3-1 formation this position is possible, the formation they play at AC Milan.

Inter and Sneidjer are currently in dispute about the stars wages. A move to Manchester United fell through due to Sneidjers astronomical wage demands, and with the current econimcal drop in Italian football – Inter are desperate to lower his wages.

It is rumoured that AC Milan as a club are fond on Sneidjer's ability, and with close friends such as Boateng, Nigel de Jong and Urby Emanuelson all playing for Milan – Sniejder may feel he will be more appreciated at AC Milan rather than Inter.

Inter will no doubt be keen to offloading their star to a foreign team rather than their city rivals – although now that Manchester United appear to be out of the race, Milan may be the only option.
