Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov bills Wigan match 'one of the biggest tests'

United's 'deal' with Real for RonaldoFerguson's players secured the club's 17th league championship with a 2-0 victory at the JJB on the final day of last season and Berbatov, aiming for his first league title, insists that the United squad are well-primed to take another step towards the title tonight. Berbatov said: "Wigan have a very good team and an excellent coach in Steve Bruce, who is a United legend. "I know it will be difficult, but last year United won the league there, so hopefully history repeats itself because winning is very important to us getting the title. "Every team that plays against us gives 100 per cent and more, but they know we have great players and Sir Alex leading us. "This will be one of the biggest tests of their lives, but if we play our game, we can win." Ferguson is due to assess the fitness of Rio Ferdinand (calf) and Jonny Evans (groin) before naming his team tonight. Cristiano Ronaldo is set to start, despite his outburst at the weekend after being substituted against Manchester City. Ferguson is also ready to recall Wayne Rooney to the starting line-up after naming England forward on the bench against City. With United due to face Hull City at the KC Stadium on the final day of the season, just four days before they tackle Barcelona in the Champions League Final in Rome, Ferguson is determined to get the title wrapped up as quickly as possible. He said: "We have to put all the (Champions League) issues to one side and make sure we maintain the energy and drive that's vital if we are to get over the line for the championship."
