Manchester United star Michael Owen hit by injury curse again

Michael Owen could miss Manchester United's title run-in after suffering yet another injury setback that could keep him out for months.[LNB]Pain game: Owen could be set to join injured team-mate Park Ji-sung on the sidelines[LNB]The one-time England striker, who has made just six league appearances during a  frustrating campaign, was set to start against non-league Crawley in Saturday's FA Cup fifth round clash at Old Trafford.[LNB]But the 31-year-old limped out of training on Monday at United's Carrington training base telling the club's coaching staff that his 'groin had gone', according to The Sun.[LNB]Owen is set to discover his fate after being sent for scans on Wednesday, two days on from taking part in shooting practice which led to him pulling up with the problem.[LNB]Earlier this week Ferguson revealed the former Liverpool and Newcastle forward, who is out of contract at the end of the season, still had an important role to play in his trophy chasing squad.[LNB]The United boss insisted that Owen, who was just returning to action following three months out from October with a hamstring injury, would get his chance in the coming weeks - although that has now been put in serious doubt.[LNB] Ferguson said: 'I keep trying to get myself into a situation where I can play Michael Owen more often.[LNB]'I haven't been completely fair that way. He is a terrific trainer and every time I play him he never lets me down.[LNB] Main man: United boss Ferguson had hoped to call on Owen more often[LNB]'Michael is a phenomenal player in and around the box,[LNB]'You can make similarities in physique to Javier Hernandez. In and around the box, both of them are very dangerous players.[LNB]'The advantage we have with Michael on the run-in is that he has terrific big-game experience.
