Bosnian journalist Mirza Dautbegovic has suggested on Twitter that Manchester United have made a bid for AS Roma star Miralem Pjanic.
Pjanic, who is also Bosnian has been a key part of Roma's team and Serie A title charge this season, scoring 3 goals goals and making 4 assists in just 12 appearances. Roma currently sit eight points behind league leaders Juventus after the weekends 3-0 defeat in Turin.
Manchester United have reportedly bid between €20-25 million for Pjanic and although the player has previously stated he is happy at Roma circumstances can quickly change and a bid from the Premier League champions may well turn his head.
The 23-year-old would be the perfect remedy for United's fragile midfield and his creative abilities would provide ammunition for the in-form Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez whilst Rooney and RVP recover from injuries. The fact that Roma's sporting director has already confirmed that the club have turned down offers from Pjanic shows he is hot property in Europe.
Signing a player of this calibre would also do no harm to Wayne Rooney's chances of signing a contract extension at the club, as he has reportedly once again questioned the clubs ambition.
