Manchester United must sign Franck Ribery says Marcel Desailly

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez both on the cusp of making their Old Trafford exit, the Scot is in need of some summer reinforcements if United are to continue their reign on the Premier League. It is understood Ferguson will launch a £30 million bid to sign Karim Benzema to take the place of Tevez as well as something in the region of £16m for Antonio Valencia. But when it comes to replacing Ronaldo, Desailly is adamant no one has the talent to fill the void than Ribery. "I would put him [Ribery] in the top two wingers in the world. It's Cristiano Ronaldo and then straight away after it's Ribery," Desailly told the Express. "He has the same style as Ronaldo because he can dribble past you. He will be less of a show off than Ronaldo but when you put him in a collective, he will make a difference. If they buy him the guy will deliver a huge performance and will help the team. Let's give him the opportunity to show he is capable of delivering performances in the Premier League. "United need him, Scholes is getting older, Giggs is getting older. They need another player to replace Ronaldo with that special skill - the skill to be able to make that special difference at any moment." Bayern are though to be holding out for a bid in excess of £65 million, and Desailly insists Ferguson will have to make a hasty decision with the lure of Spanish football rapidly coming on to the scene. Despite the reported asking price being twice United's current transfer record, the Frenchman said: "Listen, we are talking about talent here and there is no price on that.'
