Manchester United look to terminate contract of Spanish goalkeeper

Manchester United are looking to terminated the contract of goalkeeper Victor Valdes but only if the Spanish stopper doesn't join another Premier League team, according to the Daily Mail.

The 33 year old joined the Red Devils last summer on a free transfer from FC Barcelona but has been plagued by injury.

Valdes spent 14 years at Barcelona, making 387 appearances and winning La Liga, the Copa Del Rey, the Champions League, the European Championships, the World Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

It was thought that Valdes may be sold in the most recent transfer window after Sergio Romero was preferred ahead of him after David De Gea was dropped at, amid interest from Real Madrid.

Liverpool were interested in the outcast 'keeper but no formal approach was made, but Louis Van Gaal adamant to not let Valdes join a rival team.
