Louis van Gaal's Manchester United have made contact with Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris as the Old Trafford club make plans for De Gea's potential exit, according to reports today.

With David De Gea's contract sitting unsigned somewhere at Old Trafford, the club have been making contingency plans should the worst happen, with Hugo Lloris being increasingly linked with a move to Manchester in recent weeks.

United's second choice keeper and former Barcelona star Victor Valdes is being touted as a ready made replacement for Lloris, with United ready to offer the World Cup winner plus £25million in exchange for the Frenchman's signature should Real Madrid get their man.

French publication L'Equipe claim that the Red Devils have already started talks with 28-year-old Hugo Lloris' agents as the possibility of a transfer becomes more real. L'Equipe are held in high regard when it comes to breaking news on French players, which will worry not only Tottenham fans but United fans too, as it would suggest that they may once again be losing one of their star player before his prime to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
