Manchester United goalkeeping coach makes personal check on Anders Lindegaard

Manchester Unitedgoalkeeper coach Eric Steele personally checked out Aalesund No 1Anders Lindegaard on Sunday night, according to reports in Norway.

TheDenmark international is on Sir Alex Ferguson's radar as a potentialreplacement for Holland veteran Edwin van der Sar and Steele wasspotted in the stands for his Aalesund's 2-1 defeat by Stabaek.

Unitedhave already watched him five times in the flesh as well as regularlyfollowing DVDs of his performances, but they have not yet followed upthe interest with a formal bid.

Arsenal and Bayern Munich have also been linked with move, butLindegaard played down the latest interest following Sunday's defeat.

'Perhaps (Steele) was here to see Knudsen,' said the 26-year-old, referring to Stabaek keeper Jon Knudsen.
