Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Amos eyes loan exit after Champions League bow
Ben Amos is hoping to build on his Champions League debut for Manchester United by spending a short period away from Old Trafford.[LNB]The 20-year-old was handed a surprise start by Sir Alex Ferguson for the home draw with Valencia, which sealed United's status as Group C winners.[LNB]Although Ferguson felt Amos took a little bit of time to get used to his surroundings, the Red Devils chief was satisfied with what he saw in the second-half.[LNB] Learning curve: Amos was beaten by Valencia's Pablo Hernandez on his Champions League debut for United[LNB]The youngster made a couple of decent saves to ensure United collected the point they required but know faces a spell on the sidelines as Ferguson relies on Edwin van der Sar to crank up the pressure in the Premier League.[LNB]With Tomasz Kuszczak's future uncertain and Anders Lindegaard due to start training with his new team-mates next week, Amos realises even getting on the bench is going to be tough.[LNB]Which is why he feels it would be in the interests of everyone concerned if he spent a spell away on loan.[LNB]'It is crucial for a young goalkeeper to get a good run of games,' he said.[LNB]'That is how you get experience.The only way of doing that is by going out and playing regularly somewhere. [LNB]If anything, he was worried because he was too laid-back. 'I felt calm,' he said. 'I wasn't nervous beforehand at all.[LNB]'My confidence is growing the more I improve.
