Manchester United flop Bebe suffers serious knee injury

Manchester United's on-loan winger Bebe has torn his anterior cruciate ligament, Turkish club Besiktas have announced.[LNB] Bebe is set to be out for six months after suffering the injury while playing for Portugal Under 21sin Slovakia on Tuesday night.[LNB] Shock move: but Bebe failed to make an impact at United[LNB] A statement on the official websiteof Besiktas, where Bebe, 21, was on a season-long loan, said they had contacted United to discuss where the operation should take place.[LNB] 'A scan has shown ananterior cruciate ligament tear to his left knee and he will be unable to play for six months.[LNB] 'Surgery is required and we have contacted Manchester United and there will be a joint decision about where the operation will be done.'[LNB] Tough break: Bebe was injured playing for Portugal Under 21s[LNB]United shocked the football world in 2010 by agreeing to meet the ?7.4m release clause in Bebe's new contract at Vitoria de Guimaraes in Portugal just five weeks after he had signed from Estrela da Amadora.[LNB] The winger had only played third division football and was available for ?125,000 from his old club just months earlier.
