Manchester United Finally Get A Result Reflective Of Their Performance

The Red Devils have for quite some time now been accused of playing poorly and getting results far from what they truly deserved. In stark contrast to the critics, Louis van Gaal has in this period gone on to call his team the best in the Barclays Premier League and statistically they have been. However, this one match against Swansea ensured that their frailties and failings are aptly illustrated for all the world to see.

One positive from that game for United is probably that they managed to score but then again it was another not so well worked goal from midfield. Such has been the story for Wayne Rooney and co as the team just isn't creating enough to let the strikers have a sniff of any goal mouth action whatsoever. This however is not to say they have no part in the shortage of quality goals considering that Robin van Persie is looking like a shadow of his former best with sluggish uninventive running and wayward shooting. Radamel Falcao was once again exiled to the bench and is quickly looking like a flop signing whilst captain Rooney is doing more of defending than threatening the opposition area.

Swansea City played considerably well and created a handful of chances will Jonjo Shelvey’s screamer being the deciding factor. The Swansea awakening was a bit of a surprise as their form has been pretty indifferent of late. Truth is many sides have played just as well as Swansea against Manchester United but luck has been with the red side of Manchester making it look like the team is on the rise whilst they may have actually moved backwards from the free flow attack earlier in the season with Angel di Maria as the spearhead.
