Manchester United finally convince Vidal to join them at Old Trafford

Manchester United have finally reached a verbal agreement to sign Arturo Vidal according to El Mecurcio. There has been plenty of activity around the potential move with reports now suggesting a £48m and £200k a week deal is on the table in the Express and elsewhere.

The Gazzeta Dello Sport reported that United were offering a £6m-a-year deal in a real effort to convince the player to make the move to Old Trafford. Vidal recently stated “I do not go to Manchester”, but the persistent United looked to want to change his mind.

The report in Gazzeta Dello Sport suggested that the players agent, Fernando Felicevich, was set for talks with Juventus to discuss the United offer this week and if the new report proves true then the price has gone up significantly with El Mecurcio claiming a £63.3million fee was required and £270,000-a-week salary.

Reports in Italy stated that Manchester United where being open about personal terms in what was becoming the Vidal transfer saga with the Old Trafford chief’s set to offer Vidal double his current salary.

The 27-year-old Chile international midfielder is known for a hard-tackling style which earned him the nickname “The Warrior” and is an integral part of the Serie A championship winners team. Vidal joined Juventus in 2011 and has gone on to make 95 appearances and scored 28 goals. Vidal has won the Serie A title over three successive seasons as well as the Supercoppa Italiana in 2012 and 2013.
